Resumen

Klima-aldaketa gero eta agerikoagoa da gure bizitzan, eta askok uste dute aurre egin behar diegun erronka garrantzitsuenetako bat dela. Komunitate zientifikoaduela lau hamarkadatik jasotzen ari den ebidentziak gorabehera, oraindik entzuten dira ikusten ari garen aldaketen arrazoiak zalantzan jartzen dituzten ahotsak. Idazlan honen helburua, klima-aldaketari buruzko hitzaurre orokor bat izatea da, izan ditzakeen inpaktuen eta eragin negatiboak murrizteko har ditzakegun neurrien ikuspegitik.

Horretarako, lehenik eta behin, klima aldatzen ari dela erakusten duten ebidentziak errepasatuko ditugu, bai eta aldaketa horien testuinguru historikoa eta arrazoiak ere. Jarraian, klima-aldaketak sistema naturaletan eta giza sistemetan dituen ondorioak aztertuko ditugu, bai Europa mailan, bai Euskal Autonomia Erkidegoan (EAE) espero diren inpaktuak. Azkenik, klima-aldaketara egokitzeko kontzeptuaren sarrera bat aurkeztuko dugu, oraindik aurre egin beharreko erronkak errepasatuko ditugu, baita gizarte erresilienteagoak eraikitzeko eskaintzen dizkigun aukerak ere.

Climate change is increasingly present in our lives and many defineit as one of the most important challenges we face. Despite the scientificevidence collected for decades, there are still voices that question the causes of the changes we are observing. This chapter is intended to be a general introduction to climate change, from a perspective of its potential impacts as well as the measures we can take to adapt and respond to its negative effects.

To do this, we firstreview the scientificevidence about the changing climate, as well as the historical context and the causes of these observations. Next, we explore the effects of climate change on natural and human systems, on a European scale but also review the expected impacts in the Basque Autonomous Community. Finally, we present an introduction to the concept of adaptation to climate change, we review the challenges it still has to face and also the opportunities it offers to build more resilient societies.
