
This article addresses the role of diasporas, as transnational actors, in peacebuilding processes and the defence of human rights in their territories of origin. To this end, it takes into account the contributions of Diaspora Studies and other disciplinary fields, such as Peace Studies or Feminist and Gender Studies. These are different fields of knowledge that have converged over the last three decades, allowing for a deeper understanding of the construction of identity and political activism of diasporas.
