Critical analysis of the labour market is essential to understand the contradictions surrounding the structure and work of society. This paper analyses from various perspectives the sociological, economic and legal aspects necessary for the analysis of labour. The theoretical approach emphasises the importance of labour for the cohesion and oppression of society.
Starting from the Grenoble School of Regulation, the analysis of the economics of labour analyses the dynamics of capitalism and the evolution of the main factors of the labour force, including the effects of the 2008 crisis in the Basque Country. From the legal point of view of labour relations, concrete cases are used to analyse the tensions between regulation and the dynamics of labour.
Methodologically, the theoretical approach is combined with practical analysis to illustrate the complex nature of work. The conclusions show that labour market analysis is essential to promote social cohesion and to understand the problems surrounding work, in order to propose new reflections and alternatives. Finally, the institutionalisation and peculiarities of labour relations in the Basque Country are briefly summarised.
